Sara Sobota is a Myrtle Beach-based writer, editor, and educator. She's built a career at Coastal Carolina University as faculty member in the Department of English and publications editor for the Edwards College for Humanities and Fine Arts. She is lead writer and editor of Tapestry, the Edwards College alumni magazine. As a free lancer, she has co-published a cookbook titled Bonjour, Y'all with James Beard-nominated chef Heidi Vukov, written dozens of articles in regional publications, and worked as a longtime consultant with the Myrtle Beach Museum of Art.

Sara holds an M.F.A. in nonfiction from the Bennington Writing Seminars. Her creative work appears in the forthcoming literary anthology Write Home, and she serves as nonfiction editor at literary journals The Petigru Review and Waccamaw.  Sara is writing a memoir about the first year of her son’s addiction recovery, titled Is This Part of the Program? A Mother. A Son. A Year of Recovery. The work has been supported by the South Carolina Arts Commission.
